MagicWord was created as part of the GAMER work package in the Innovalangues project at the Stendhal University in Grenoble, France. Since then the Stendhal University is a part of the bigger Univ. Grenoble Alpes, Innovalangues discontinued its support of MagicWord in 2017, this branch is the result of the game's designers and developper continued autonomous unfunded work.
A new version, implemented thanks to the support of “Démarre SHS !”, will be released during the second semester of 2019.
